The short version. We keep what you tell us so we can shop, place and look after your insurance. We never sell it. The free tools on this site keep nothing you type. You can ask what we have about you, ask us to fix it, or tell us to stop contacting you, any time.
1Who we are
Harmony Financial is a DBA of Harmony Financial Group, an independent insurance brokerage in Illinois. This policy covers this website (theharmonyagency.com), its free tools, the Client Suite at portal.theharmonyagency.com, and what we keep when you work with us.
We are not an insurance company. The companies that write your policies send you their own privacy notices, and their own rules apply to what they keep.
2What you give us
- When you book a call: your name, phone number and email, and any note you add.
- When we look at your coverage: who lives with you, your home and cars, the policies you have now, what they cost, past claims, and birthdays.
- When we get you a quote or apply: what the insurance company asks for. That can include a driver's licence number, a loan number, and details about others in your home who will be on the policy.
- For Medicare: your Medicare number, a Medicaid number if you have one, and your doctor's name.
- In the Client Suite: your sign-in and any papers you send us.
- When you get in touch: what you say in a call, text, voicemail or email. Emails between you and Shakari are kept on your file.
We only ask for something when a quote, an application or your policy needs it. You can always say no, though an insurance company may not quote without it.
3The free tools keep nothing
The Life Insurance Calculator, the Coverage Gap Finder and the Coverage IQ game work inside your own browser. What you type, and any declarations page you add to the Gap Finder, stays on your device. None of it is sent to us or saved. Using a tool doesn't tell us who you are.
4What this website collects
- Visit records. Netlify, which runs this site, records each visit: the address of your device, the time, the page, and your browser. We use these to keep the site working.
- Fonts. The site's lettering comes from Google Fonts, so Google sees your device's address when a page loads.
- Cookies. This website sets none. When you sign in, the Client Suite sets only what it needs to keep you signed in. No advertising, no tracking across other sites.
5Calls, texts and email
If you give us your phone number or email, we may call, text or email you about your insurance: to set up a call, ask what a quote needs, remind you of an appointment, send papers, and look after your policies.
- Texts come from Shakari's own phone. Reply and tell us to stop, and we will.
- Every email we send from time to time, like the monthly letter or a renewal note, has a "Stop these emails" link. One press stops them.
- Our emails don't carry hidden tracking pictures or disguised links. We only learn whether an email arrived or bounced.
- Agreeing to hear from us is never a condition of buying anything.
6How we use it
To quote and apply for coverage for you, look after and renew your policies, help with billing and insurance company questions, keep the records Illinois and the insurance companies require, and reach you about your coverage. Insurance companies make their own decisions about who they cover. We don't make automatic decisions about you.
7Who we share it with
- Insurance companies, when you ask us to quote or place coverage. This is the main reason anything leaves our hands.
- The reports insurance companies use to quote: driving records, claims history and property reports.
- For Medicare, the Medicare agency and enrollment systems we place plans through.
- The companies that run our tools, only to do that work for us: Supabase (where our records and files are kept), Vercel (runs the Client Suite), Netlify (runs this website), Resend (sends our email), Google (Shakari's calendar and email), DocuSeal (electronic signatures), Anthropic (our AI assistant, below) and ElevenLabs (reads answers aloud during a Medicare appointment).
- Another licensed agent, only when you ask us to pass you on, or through our Second Look program for agents, and only what that needs.
- When the law requires it, such as a court order or the Illinois Department of Insurance.
- If the business changes hands, your file goes with it, under this policy or one that protects you as much.
We do not sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising. Links on this site to other companies (an insurance company, Medicare.gov, ClaimSpeak) lead to sites with their own privacy rules.
8Our AI assistant
Harmony has an AI assistant that runs on Claude, made by Anthropic. When you send us papers, like a declarations page or a plan's summary of benefits, it reads them to fill in your file, and Shakari checks what it read before anything is saved. It also helps him tidy his notes, draft messages and answer your questions about your plan. It does not make decisions about your coverage.
9Shakari's Google account
Harmony connects to Shakari's own Google account to put appointments on his calendar, see when he is free for a booking, and file emails he exchanges with you onto your record. It asks Google for nothing more than that. What Harmony receives from Google is used only for these things. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
Harmony's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
10The Client Suite
The Client Suite is where clients see their policies and papers, and where our Second Look partners see the requests sent to them. Your sign-in is yours alone; tell us quickly if you think someone else has it. If you stop being a client, we keep what the rules require and remove the rest.
11Medicare
Medicare is kept separate. What you tell us for Medicare is used for Medicare only. We don't use it to sell you home, car or life insurance, and we don't bring up other insurance in a Medicare appointment unless you asked us to beforehand, in writing.
Your Medicare and Medicaid numbers are locked in our records (see How we protect it). Your medicines and health answers go into the plan's enrollment system when you sign up. We don't keep them.
12How long we keep it
While you are a client, and afterwards for as long as Illinois insurance rules and the insurance companies require. If you asked about coverage but never became a client, we keep your details for a shorter time and then delete them.
13How we protect it
- Everything travels over secure, encrypted connections.
- The most private numbers (driver's licence, birthday, loan numbers, Medicare and Medicaid numbers) are stored scrambled. They are unscrambled only when needed, and every time is recorded.
- The Client Suite needs a password and locks after too many wrong tries.
No system is perfect, and we won't claim ours is. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you, as Illinois law requires.
14Your choices
- Ask what we have about you, and ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete what we are not required to keep.
- Tell us to stop calling, texting or emailing you.
- Say no to giving us something in the first place.
We do these for anyone who asks, wherever you live. We may need to check it's you first. Insurance companies give you more rights in their own notices.
15Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. Children named on a family's policy come to us from their parent or guardian.
16How to reach us
Questions about this policy, or a request about your information, go to Shakari Granberry at 773-517-9681 or granberryshakari@gmail.com. You can also contact the Illinois Department of Insurance about a licensed agent at any time.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. A change that matters will be pointed out on this site, not slipped in.
